Brie Bella said on The Nikki and Brie Show that her return to the ring is still a long way off, in an update on the broken scapula she suffered at WWE SummerSlam 2026, Khel Now reported. Bella gave the update after a scan on October 1.
Khel Now reported that Bella was hurt in a six-woman tag team match at SummerSlam, where she teamed with her sister Nikki Bella and Paige against Fatal Influence, made up of Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. Fightful reported that the scapula, or shoulder blade, was broken in the match, that she will not need surgery, and that she will be out three to six months depending on how the injury heals. Khel Now's October 7 report put her about two months into that window.
Bella described the recovery as a series of steps. Khel Now quoted her: "making sure my bones are fused, then next going back into the right type of exercise, getting my body strong. And then the next is getting back into practicing in the ring." Khel Now also quoted her saying: "I still think my days to be in-ring are still far, unfortunately." She added: "I'm not the type of girl anymore who's going to rush things."
Fightful reported that Nikki Bella raised the 2027 Royal Rumble in February as a possible return point on the show, saying: "What a return if it is the Royal Rumble for you, depending on your shoulder." The Royal Rumble return is a possibility raised on the show, not a confirmed plan, and no return date has been announced by WWE.
Nikki Bella is scheduled for a rematch against Paige on October 16 at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. In the Fightful report, Nikki said of her own direction: "I know it will be interesting to see what I do."
As of October 7, Bella remains out of action with a broken scapula, and no timetable beyond the three to six month estimate has been given.
