Jonathan Coachman said Triple H told longtime WWE superfan Rick Achberger he would never have to buy a ticket to a WWE show again, according to Ringside News. Coachman told the story on his podcast, The Coach and Bro Show, after Achberger's passing.
Achberger was known to WWE fans as the Sign Guy. Ringside News reported that he worked for Verizon and saved money to travel to WWE events across the country. Coachman said his signs became valuable to performers, who treated being recognized on one as "a badge of honor."
According to Coachman, Achberger had supported the company for years without asking for special treatment. Triple H noticed that dedication and thanked him backstage after a show. Coachman recalled Triple H telling him: "As long as I'm here, you will not buy another ticket to a WWE show. Every time you wanna come, you just text us."
Coachman said Triple H also explained his reasoning. "We appreciate your support, but in no way, shape, or form do we want you going into debt or spending money you don't have simply so you can watch wrestling shows," Triple H said, as recounted by Coachman.
Ringside News reported that WWE then gave Achberger complimentary access to future events through a house name system.
