Diamond Dallas Page says he would love to see LA Knight beat Roman Reigns for the world title at Money in the Bank. Page made the comments on OutKick's Dropkick podcast, Fox News reported, ahead of the show on Saturday, Oct. 10.
WWE.com lists Reigns as champion, defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Knight at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. The show streams live at 6 ET on the ESPN App with an ESPN Unlimited plan in the United States, and on Netflix internationally. The card also includes the men's and women's Money in the Bank ladder matches and Oba Femi against Bronson Reed. The men's ladder field is CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Trick Williams, Penta, Je'Von Evans and Bron Breakker.
Asked about the idea, Page said, "I would love to see that." He tied his view to his own career, noting that he and Knight both saw their careers take off in their 40s. Page framed it as something he hopes for, not a prediction of how the match ends.
Page compared the scenario to his own win over Randy Savage at WCW Spring Stampede on April 6, 1997, the day after his 41st birthday. "When I beat Randy Savage, it was more dramatic than even being the world champion," he said.
He also addressed whether a loss would cost Reigns anything. "If he did freaking put LA Knight over, it wouldn't hurt him at all," Page said, comparing Reigns to Hulk, Rock and Cena.
No finish has been announced, and Page's comments reflect his own hope, not a report of WWE's plans.
