Erick Rowan made his TNA debut at Bound for Glory on October 11 under the name Erick Redbeard. The show at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida also featured the TNA debuts of Shayna Baszler and Max Caster, and Syx, the team of Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw, was on the card.

Rowan was released by WWE in April alongside Bo Dallas, Sawyer, Shaw and Nikki Cross, Wrestling Inc reported. Sawyer and Shaw wrestled in WWE as Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis. All three were part of the Wyatt Sicks faction. Sawyer's release ended a six-year run with the company, and Shaw's was his second exit from WWE after a release in 2022, according to Wrestling Inc.

Sawyer and Shaw arrived on TNA Impact on September 24. Wrestling Inc said they attacked Matt and Jeff Hardy and then unmasked to reveal their identities. Shaw was returning to TNA after earlier time with the promotion, while Sawyer was working there for the first time.

On the October 1 Impact, Syx appeared in the ring to address the backstage attacks that had been happening in TNA. Sawyer said that "anyone who supports TNA is on the chopping block," according to Wrestling Inc. Matt Hardy answered by challenging Syx to a Falls Count Anywhere No Disqualification match at Bound for Glory.

Syx and The Hardys were on the Bound for Glory card, the same show as Redbeard's debut. It has not been reported whether Redbeard is aligned with Syx, or how TNA plans to use him.

Redbeard has debuted in TNA, and his alignment has not been announced.
