Stephanie Vaquer is legitimately injured but not seriously, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. Vaquer appeared on crutches on the October 12 episode of Raw, two days after she hurt her ankle in the Women's World Championship triple threat at Money in the Bank, Fightful reported.
Money in the Bank took place October 10 in New Orleans. Vaquer defended the Women's World Championship against Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan. Lynch was eliminated after Vaquer sent her through a table, and Morgan then hit the Oblivion and pinned Vaquer to win the title for the fourth time, Wrestling Inc. reported. Morgan had lost the championship to Vaquer in Chile, with Lynch serving as special guest referee.
On Raw, Vaquer spoke backstage with Jackie Redmond while using crutches. Sacnilk reported that she discussed the ankle and said she expected to be fine in a few days. The site also wrote that she made clear she believes every loss makes her stronger and intends to move forward.
Meltzer addressed the injury on Wrestling Observer Radio. "She has a legitimate injury, but it is a minor injury, it is not as big an injury as they are playing up," he said. Meltzer added that WWE expects her back once she is cleared.
WWE has not given a detailed medical timeline, and Sacnilk noted that her in-ring status for upcoming matches is unclear. Fightful said it would update readers when more is known about her condition.
For now, Vaquer is a former champion with an ankle injury that Meltzer describes as minor, and WWE has not announced a return date.
