WWE NXT will air on Wednesday, November 4, instead of its usual Tuesday slot, putting it directly against AEW Dynamite: Blood and Guts. Wrestling Inc reported that PWInsider and Fightful broke the news, citing Netflix listings, and that it is the first Wednesday night meeting between the two shows since 2021.

The reason for the move is midterm election coverage on The CW, according to Wrestling Inc. Khel Now also reported that NXT left its Tuesday slot because of election coverage on the network.

WWE has announced two major names for the episode. John Cena will appear to provide updates on the John Cena Classic tournament, and Cody Rhodes will present the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic trophy to the tournament winners, Khel Now reported, citing WWE's announcement. WWE's promotion for Cena read "John Cena is BACK!!! 17-time Champion returns." No match between Cena and Rhodes has been announced.

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finals are on the card. Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno face Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. Dion Lennox and Cruz Montana are also set for an unsanctioned match.

The episode will carry fallout from NXT Halloween Havoc on October 31, Wrestling Inc reported. That show was scheduled to feature Grayson Waller defending the NXT Championship against Tony D'Angelo and Kelani Jordan defending the NXT Women's Championship against Wren Sinclair, along with Shiloh Hill against Naraku in a poison mist match and Charlie Dempsey against Zilla Fatu in a Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal match.

Blood and Guts is one of AEW's premier annual events, Khel Now noted. How the two shows will compare in viewership is not yet known. As it stands, NXT is set for Wednesday, November 4, against Blood and Guts, with Cena and Rhodes both advertised.
