Will Ospreay retained the AEW World Championship by beating Kazuchika Okada in the main event of AEW Grand Slam: France Dynamite on Tuesday, October 6, at Adidas Arena in Paris. AEW.com and Wrestling Inc both reported that Ospreay won by pinfall with the Hidden Blade. It was one of four title defenses on the show, and the champion retained in all four.
Samoa Joe appeared on the ramp after the main event. Earlier in the night, AEW.com reported, Joe pinned Jack Perry with a top-rope Muscle Buster to qualify for the Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream, making him the first qualifier. AEW.com and Wrestling Inc describe his ramp appearance differently, so what he intended with it is not confirmed.
Mercedes Moné retained the AEW Women's World Championship over Queen Aminata by pinfall. After the match, Thekla ran in and speared Moné, and AEW.com wrote that she then grabbed the championship. Moné and Thekla are set to meet for the title at WrestleDream on Saturday, October 17, at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando.
Also on the show, Darby Allin retained the TNT Championship over Kyle Fletcher. AEW.com said Allin won by pinfall after consecutive Coffin Drops in an extremely violent match that left him bloodied. The same report said Fletcher exposed the top turnbuckle at one point during the match.
Bandido opened the show by retaining the ROH World Championship over Kofi, pinning him with the 21 Plex. AEW.com reported that a vignette then showed Swerve Strickland and The New Level challenging "Hangman" Adam Page, Bandido, and Brody King to a two-out-of-three falls match for the AEW World Trios Championship at WrestleDream.
In a tag team match, Mark Davis and Jake Doyle defeated Jon Moxley and Gabe Kidd, who were accompanied by Marina Shafir. Both outlets had Davis and Doyle winning by pinfall. Wrestling Inc reported that Moxley will defend the Continental Championship against Doyle at WrestleDream. AEW.com did not list that match in its results.
AEW.com also reported that Speedball Mike Bailey said he will try to qualify for Clockwork Carnage in a match on AEW Collision, and promised to face Ospreay with full intensity at WrestleDream. The format, as AEW.com described it, puts the AEW World Champion against seven challengers over two phases.
The Paris episode was the most recent Dynamite, and no separate show aired on Wednesday, October 7. With the four title matches decided, WrestleDream on October 17 has Moné against Thekla, the trios title match, and Clockwork Carnage with Joe as its first qualifier.
