Triple H said on Cody Rhodes' podcast, What Do You Wanna Talk About?, that Bobby Roode is learning the producer role from Michael Hayes. WrestleTalk covered the comments on April 8. A producer, sometimes called an agent, is the backstage role that helps shape matches before they air.

Triple H traced Roode's path back to NXT, saying Roode quickly showed strong instincts for the business and was like a sponge, learning from the people around him. After Roode's neck injury, Triple H said he offered him the chance to train as an agent, telling him the experience would help his career regardless of how his medical situation turned out.

Triple H then turned to Hayes, who is WWE's senior producer. He compared Hayes to Pat Patterson, the producer from the previous era, and called Hayes the current generation's authority on match psychology. According to WrestleTalk, Triple H said Roode is now "running side-by-side with Michael" and learning from him at an accelerated pace.

Triple H also described Roode as "a grown-up" who understands professional boundaries. On what comes next, he said of the producer job, "when he wants to be done taking bumps, he's a good guy for this." A bump is a fall taken in the ring.

Several points are not known. Triple H did not set a date for when Roode would stop wrestling, and no timeline has been given for a move into a full-time backstage role.

As of the April 8 interview, Triple H describes Roode as working alongside Hayes, with no timeline attached.
