Seth Rollins has been off WWE television since SummerSlam, and WrestleVotes said in August that his absence is a creative decision rather than an injury, according to Slam Wrestling. Money in the Bank takes place Saturday, October 10, in New Orleans.

Slam Wrestling published the report on August 25, citing WrestleVotes and Fightful Select. WrestleVotes said: "Everything I've been told, it's a simple break. It's not an injury, it's creative."

On the timing of a return, WrestleVotes said: "He won't be out long. Don't think it's this week or next week, but around Money in the Bank or so."

Rollins last appeared on SummerSlam night two, where he lost a World Heavyweight Championship match to Roman Reigns, Wrestling Inc. reported. Reigns defends the title against LA Knight at Money in the Bank.

Rollins addressed his status himself on ESPN's Waddle and Silvy podcast, according to Wrestling Inc.'s October 2 report. He said: "I'll come back when the time's right. I'm just taking my time right now, kind of focusing on other things." Wrestling Inc. said he did not give a specific timeline.

Wrestling Inc. reported that Rollins remains active with ESPN appearances covering the NFL season and recently performed non-televised events in South America and Mexico. Citing Sports Business Journal, it said he has three years remaining on his WWE contract and a set number of ESPN commitments, including shows such as Good Morning Football.

A return date has not been given. As of Wrestling Inc.'s October 2 report, his last television appearance was SummerSlam night two.
