A fifth match may be coming to WWE Crown Jewel: Finn Balor against Gunther. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported on October 30 that the singles match was part of the show's original plans, as relayed by Sacnilk. WWE has not announced it.
Sacnilk reported that posters featuring both wrestlers were spotted at the entrance gates of Riyadh Season Stadium on October 28. A separate Sacnilk report said the promotional material was shared by fans, with the images originally posted on X by the account @wrestlng, and that workers were installing promotional material at the stadium at the time. Wrestling Inc likewise reported that posters at the venue suggest a Balor versus Gunther match may have been added to the card.
Crown Jewel is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, with a start time of noon ET and 9 a.m. PT, according to Sacnilk. Four matches are confirmed so far: Roman Reigns against Sami Zayn for the Men's Crown Jewel Championship, Chelsea Green against Liv Morgan for the Women's Crown Jewel Championship, Randy Orton against Cody Rhodes in a Last Man Standing match, and a World Tag Team Championship match.
The Observer report also shows the card has moved since the plans were first drawn up. Wrestling Inc reported, citing the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that the tag title match was originally meant to be a six-man tag before it was condensed to a standard tag match.
Sacnilk described the possible Balor and Gunther match as following storyline tension between the two on SmackDown over championship opportunities and personal confrontations. Whether the match is still in plans is not clear: the Observer report, as relayed by Sacnilk, said its current status is unclear.
As it stands, Balor against Gunther has been reported and teased on venue signage, but it has not been made official by WWE.
