NXT's Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo was taken out of the ring on a stretcher during a Friday night NXT live event in Sudbury, Ontario. Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer reported that Lorenzo was still hospitalized that night. WWE has not confirmed the nature of the injury.
Lorenzo is part of the BirthRight stable alongside Charlie Dempsey, Lexis King, Arianna Grace and Uriah Connors. He was in the show's main event, an eight-man tag team match in which he, King, Dempsey and Connors faced Tony D'Angelo, Tavion Heights, Shiloh Hill and Shawn Spears.
Fightful relayed a fan account, shared by WrestlePurists from Reddit user u/WickedPG, that Lorenzo "hit his face on the post after an out of the ring spot and landed really hard back bump on the floor." WrestlingInc reported that fans in attendance described the spot in two ways: a back body drop from the ring to the floor, or a fall from the top turnbuckle that sent him face first into the ringside barricade. Both outlets said the landing on the floor was hard.
Paramedics attended to Lorenzo, fitted him with a neck brace and moved him out of the building on a stretcher, according to WrestlingInc.
After the match, Spears addressed the crowd. Fightful quoted him as saying, "unfortunately, things happen in this ring," and, "when something serious happens, it's not easy." Spears also said everyone in WWE is family and thanked the crowd for coming.
Teammate Uriah Connors later posted on X: "My boys alive and well!! We can't be stopped, last of a dying breed!" The post did not give a diagnosis.
WWE has not released a diagnosis, a recovery timeline or a return date for Lorenzo. For now, the only confirmed facts are that he left the arena by stretcher and that Connors says he is alive and well.
