Queen Aminata won the TBS Championship in the main event of AEW Dynamite: Fright Night on Wednesday, pinning champion Persephone with Off With Her Head at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, according to AEW's official results. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. interfered during the match, hitting Aminata with the title belt, and Aminata still got the win.
WrestlingInc reported that Persephone controlled the early going and worked over Aminata's neck. Aminata fought back with headbutts and lariats, then sent Persephone crashing off a chair with an apron dropkick. Baker, at ringside, struck Aminata with the belt while the referee checked on Persephone. Aminata kicked out at two, answered with a headbutt, and finished the match with Off With Her Head. Persephone had held the title since beating Maya World at All In in August, and the match was her fifth defense. Aminata had challenged her at WrestleDream in a four-way. Titan Quisitor described the win as Aminata's first AEW championship. AEW said the women's locker room celebrated with her as pyro and confetti ended the show.
In the TNT Championship match, Darby Allin retained over Josh Alexander. AEW's recap said Allin turned an ankle lock into a pin for the three-count. Titan Quisitor wrote that Alexander hit a tombstone piledriver through steel chairs before Allin survived and won with a pinning counter, and that the arrival of Steven Borden countered Don Callis Family interference. AEW said Borden, in a clown mask, neutralized RPG Vice and afterward confirmed he will take part in Blood and Guts.
The title picture for Full Gear took shape earlier in the show. Kyle Fletcher beat Jack Perry with an Avalanche Sheerdrop Brainbuster, then called out AEW World Champion Will Ospreay. AEW reported that Tony Khan made Ospreay vs. Fletcher official for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear. WrestlingInc has the pay-per-view set for Saturday, November 14, at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix.
The opener went to The Cut. Jay White and David Finlay beat Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia when Clark Connors speared Garcia behind the referee's back and White hit the Blade Runner. After the bell, The Cut attacked Claudio Castagnoli with shillelagh shots, and White put him through a Blade Runner onto exposed concrete. Moxley then shouted for Anarchy in the Arena at Full Gear, aimed at The Cut. Both AEW's recap and Titan Quisitor present it as a challenge from Moxley, and AEW has not confirmed the match as booked.
Also on the show, Motor City Machine Guns beat FTR when Alex Shelley rolled up Dax Harwood, taking a 2-1 lead in their best-of-five series. Titan Quisitor said Stokely Hathaway threw powder at Shelley and Chris Sabin, which let FTR attack Shelley's leg afterward. Marina Shafir beat Rachel Armstrong by submission, then challenged AEW Women's World Champion Mercedes Moné, who slapped her, per AEW. Titan Quisitor also reported that Swerve Strickland demanded a Texas Death Match, and that Ilja Dragunov challenged Tommaso Ciampa to an immediate match, which Ciampa declined.
AEW's recap lists Blood and Guts for next week in Jacksonville. Aminata is the new TBS Champion, Allin remains TNT Champion, and Ospreay vs. Fletcher is the announced World Championship match for Full Gear.
