Marcus Mathers has left the WWE ID program after two years. Mathers announced the move in a post on X on Friday, October 9, Fightful and WrestlingInc reported.

Mathers, from Philadelphia, was among the original talents selected for WWE ID when the program launched in October 2024, Fightful reported. Before his announcement, he appeared on WWE EVOLVE and wrestled in a dark match ahead of WWE NXT on October 6.

In his post, Mathers wrote: "As of this week, my time with WWEID has come to an end. What an incredible two years it's been." WrestlingInc quoted him as writing: "I want to thank WWE for their time! Time is the most valuable thing any of us can give..." The outlet reported that he also said he gained invaluable knowledge, along with friendships and memories, during his tenure.

Fightful reported that Mathers indicated he would pursue independent opportunities following his departure. He mentioned training at the Dungeon with notable wrestlers and wrote: "I'm in the drivers seat. I'm going to show up EVERYWHERE to fight ANYONE."

WrestlingInc noted that Mathers has held multiple titles, including the Undisputed IWTV Independent Wrestling World Championship, and has recently wrestled for GCW, JCW and Limitless Wrestling.

His announcement followed similar news about former WWE ID Women's Champion Laynie Luck, WrestlingInc reported. Fightful reported that Luck's exit came earlier the same week.

His statement did not name a next booking or promotion. As of now, his departure from WWE ID is confirmed by his own statement.
